Measles – What You Need to Know
Measles cases are on the rise in the Wellington region, and it’s more important than ever to check that you and your whānau are protected.
Measles is highly contagious, and even a simple trip to the supermarket or playground can expose you to it. The best protection is the MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine.
Am I Protected?
If you’re unsure about your measles immunity, here’s how to check:
Check Your Records
For immunisations since 2005:
Log in to My Health Record to view your vaccination history. For children and young people:
Call the free Vaccination Helpline on 0800 28 29 26 to check records.
Parents can also check their child’s Tamariki Ora / Well Child book to confirm there are two recorded MMR vaccinations.
