Winter Energy Payment Ending Soon

A reminder that the Winter Energy Payment ends on 1 October 2025.

When will the last payment be made?

• If you are paid weekly (receiving a benefit):

  • Your last full Winter Energy Payment will be included in the week beginning 29 September 2025.

  • The following week (beginning 6 October) will include a part-payment.

  • From the week beginning 13 October, no Winter Energy Payment will be included.

• If you receive NZ Super or a Veteran’s Pension:

  • The payment on Tuesday 7 October 2025 will include eight days of Winter Energy Payment.

  • From Tuesday 21 October 2025, no Winter Energy Payment will be included.

The Winter Energy Payment will begin again on 1 May 2026. If you qualify, you’ll receive it automatically — no need to apply.
