Waitangi Day Closure

Newtown Medical Centre will be closed on Waitangi Day, Friday 6 February.

We will reopen as usual on Monday 9 February.

Waitangi Day is a public holiday and our team will be unavailable during this time. Please plan ahead for prescriptions, medical certificates, or any non urgent health needs.

If you need urgent medical care while we are closed

If you require urgent medical attention that cannot wait until we reopen, please use one of the following services.

Wellington Hospital Emergency Department
Open 24 hours a day for serious or life threatening conditions.
Call 111 in an emergency.

Practice Plus
Practice Plus provides virtual GP appointments after hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. This can be a convenient option for urgent but non emergency health concerns.

Prescriptions

If you need repeat prescriptions, please request these before the public holiday to avoid delays.
